How to build a travel skincare routine with Lumière capsules.

Most travel routines fail for the same reason: they're a shrunken version of a home routine, carried in bottles that leak, weigh too much, and never survive a security line intact. This is a routine designed the other way around — built for movement first, with nothing left out.

The structure

One sheet per day holds 12 capsules — a six-step morning routine and a six-step evening routine. Each capsule is a single full-face dose, used once and discarded. No measuring, no decanting, no leftovers.

Why order matters

Skincare works in one direction: thinnest to thickest. A watery toner applied over a rich cream simply sits on the surface. Applied underneath, it absorbs and carries the layers above it deeper. The sequence below follows that principle exactly, which is why the capsules are numbered on the sheet.

The morning routine

1 · Facial cleanser

Overnight your skin produces oil and sheds cells. A gentle amino-acid based lather over damp skin clears that without stripping — the mistake most people make in the morning is over-cleansing, which triggers more oil by midday.

2 · Toner

Press into skin that's still slightly damp. This rebalances pH after cleansing and, more importantly, gives everything after it something to bind to. Hyaluronic acid works far better on wet skin than dry.

3 · Essence

The treatment layer. Niacinamide and panthenol address tone, texture and barrier strength — the ingredients doing the long-term work while you sleep in different beds every few nights.

4 · Eye cream

Tap around the orbital bone with your ring finger, which applies the least pressure. Never drag. Morning puffiness responds best to gentle tapping and a cool product.

5 · Face cream

Seals everything beneath it. In dry climates or air conditioning, this is the step that determines whether the previous four survive the day.

6 · Primer

The finishing layer — it blurs pores and smooths texture, making a clean base for makeup or SPF. Men typically skip this step, as with the makeup remover at night.

Don't skip sunscreen

A capsule routine covers cleansing, hydration and treatment — it doesn't replace SPF. Sun exposure is the single largest driver of visible aging, and it's higher at altitude and near water. Apply sunscreen as your final morning step, after primer.

The evening routine

The same sequence, reversed in purpose: morning protects, evening repairs.

  1. Makeup remover oil — massage over dry skin first. Oil dissolves oil; water pushes makeup around. Men can skip this.
  2. Facial cleanser — the second cleanse removes what the oil lifted.
  3. Toner — reset and rehydrate.
  4. Essence — active ingredients work hardest overnight, when skin repairs.
  5. Eye cream — the delicate area benefits most from an uninterrupted eight hours.
  6. Face cream — the seal that stops moisture escaping into dry hotel air.

Adapting for where you are

SituationWhat to adjust
Long-haul flightCabin humidity drops to around 10–20%, drier than most deserts. Cleanse before boarding, then apply essence and face cream mid-flight. A hydrogel mask during cruise is the single most effective in-flight step.
Hot, humid climatesUse the full routine at night, but consider skipping face cream in the morning if skin feels heavy — essence alone may be enough.
Cold, dry destinationsDon't skip anything. Apply face cream to slightly damp skin to trap extra moisture.
Red-eye arrivalCleanse and use eye cream on landing. It's a two-minute reset that changes how you look walking into a meeting.
Shared hostel bathroomThe whole routine runs from a pocket-sized sheet — no counter space or toiletry bag required.

Your routine, sealed and ready.

Start with the 3-Day Trial or the 7-Day Pack — the same complete routine, sized to your trip.

Five habits that make the difference

How long until you see results

Hydration is immediate — skin feels different the first morning. Brightness and tone typically shift over four to six weeks, and texture and fine lines respond over about twelve weeks of consistent use. That timeline is biology, not marketing: skin cell turnover takes roughly a month, and collagen changes take longer still.
